Yes, there are internal lights which activate upon door opening. All Sheldon Manufacturing Peltier-cooled incubators use only low-heat LED lights.

Peltier cooling is much more efficient. Peltier cooled incubators will consume significantly less electricity and produce less waste heat than traditional refrigerated incubators.

The mean time between failure for thermoelectric Peltier cooling plates have been estimated to have between 100,000 and 200,000 hours mean time between failures, which would equate to approximately 11.5 - 23 years of continuous use. Furthermore, the thermoelectric cooling and heating device is easier and less expensive to replace than a compressor, and does not require a refrigeration technician to do so.
